Monifieth Swim Club
Monifieth Swim Club is a competitive swimming club which has been in existence since 1983.
The club is affiliated to the Scottish Amateur Swimming Association (SASA), known as ‘Scottish Swimming’ and is a member of SASA Midland District.
Club Objective
The objective of the Club is to provide every swimmer the opportunity to achieve their true potential within the sport of swimming.
Club Structure
The Club’s business is conducted by a committee formed mainly from parents. The committee is elected by the members of the Club at the Annual General Meeting. Parents and swimmers should feel free to pass on any comments or concerns that they have to any of the committee members.
Child Protection Policy
The welfare of our swimmers is our number one concern. Although participating in sport can be hard work it should also be enjoyable. In order to ensure the welfare of our swimmers the Club has adopted a Child Protection Policy which is recommended by the Scottish Amateur Swimming Association. Any parents or swimmers who have any concerns or would like a copy of the Child Protection Policy should contact our Child Protection Officer.
Parental Involvement
Monifieth Swim Club is largely dependent on the dedication and hard work of its volunteers. Actively participating in the club can be a very rewarding experience. There are many opportunities to participate. If you are able to give a little of your time on a regular basis or have skills that would be of use to the Club, please let a committee member know.
We regularly organize fundraising events, and we would expect everybody to participate. Funds raised will always go towards the club, for the equipment the swimmers use, for their club clothing, or towards special events for the swimmers.
Fees and Insurance
Members are required to pay an annual fee. This fee goes towards the running costs of the club, mainly pool hire.
Through the Club all members are also members of the SASA, and through this, the Club and its members have insurance cover for swimmers whilst training and at competitions.
